Pride Issue Cover
For this cover, I was provided with this photo of Pattie Gonia. I had the idea of making it seem like it was a printed photo autographed by a drag queen, so I chose a handwritten font for the feature title. The light yellow of the Source logo and the Plus symbol help offset the strong blues and whites of the rest of the cover.

Shop Local Issue Cover
For the 2024 Shop Local issue, I wanted to evoke the ski town aesthetic of Bend, Oregon that I grew up in. The 3D sign is based on the ones I see around town, and the buildings are directly copied from the storefronts in the downtown area of Bend.

Marketing Promotions
Part of my time at Source Weekly Magazine was creating materials for promotions where clients would pay to be featured in articles. Among these promotions included Cheap Eats and Summer Health & Fitness.

Cheap Eats
Cheap Eats was a new campaign aimed at local restaurants and food vendors.
I picked the "brick" and handwritten fonts to communicate the familiarity of family restaurants and the complimentary red and yellow to evoke fast food imagery.

Summer Health & Adventure
Summer Health & Adventure was aimed at local businesses that offered things like outdoor or sports gear, as well as people who offered classes and training.
My goal was to communicate the feeling of an outdoor lifestyle, similar to something you'd see from The North Face or REI.
